THE CIRCLE
Bubbles, rocks or something else?
The Troutbitten Circle was conceived when I asked Josh Darling to create a trout skin pattern for use as a background. I wanted a brown-trout-look behind some other stuff I was working on. Josh created and sent me just what I asked for. Then he stuck part of the skin inside a circle and sent that along too. It caught my eye immediately. I love the circle’s ambiguity. Its elements are reminiscent of many things we encounter on the river. It looks like bubbles — like water — like rocks. And it looks like the original design request — a trout skin pattern.
Darling’s Circle became an immediate Troutbitten icon.
