Find feeding fish. Look for fishy water. These are the keys to putting trout in the net. But as the seasons change, so do the habits of trout. This film focuses on the shift between summer to fall.

Every year — really every season — we see a drop in angler interest and time spent on the water. And I’m seeing it again, right now. Because as we move into fall, things are changing quickly, and what worked to fool trout all summer long just isn’t as productive any longer.

Consistency on the water, day to day, requires an awareness of the shifts that take place, season to season.

Meeting trout in these times of transition takes some forethought and willingness to adapt.

My friend, Josh Darling (Wilds Media), joins me on a trip through the watershed. At the end, I convince Josh to put down the camera and do a little fishing.

    Love this. I wouldn’t think that a fishing video in which there is no (nearly) fishing would be as much fun to watch, and as educational, as one where one fish is caught after another, but I’d be wrong. Great work, guys.
